Understanding the Big Picture is really essential here and it seems the author and many commenters cannot see what is going on in the US. We are in the midst of a Civil Way with Post-Truth Flatlanders on one side who are ready to throw democracy out of the window. On the other side are those who are very concerned about how close this country has come to authoritarianism and I would argue that until Jan 20th we cannot be sure it will not happen.

And, here the progressive left is already at the throats of the middle-ground Dems trying to calm down the radicalized right and get the country moving together again in some small ways. The radical left is almost completely responsible for Trump. The never-ending push to use the right pronouns, eliminate plastic water bottles (these are just little examples - you get my point!), and other sacred elements of the radical left that so infuriated traditional value Americans is a key part of the backlash that installed Trump.

So many on the left are like single-issue voters on the right (e.g. abortion) and will pull support of someone who is much closer to them in overall values like environment belief in science, social justice, equitable tax system, healthcare, etc. But, like this article, which uses a few early Biden appointments to basically say well, we should have voted/not-voted like in the past: Nader to submarine Gore, or Jill Stein to tip it to Trump, because Biden doesn't go far enough.

My friends see me as a liberal Dem and while I am sympathetic to the progressive left issues, I don't let them dominate my thinking to the point that I make decisions that allow George W or Trump to be elected. Come on folks on the left. Wake up! Your actions are taking us to Armageddon as fast as the crazy right. Back up a little and find some compassion for Traditionalists and start being tolerant of them as you want them to understand and tolerate you.
